Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented California Shoreline
A helicopter flying over a popular coastal beach abruptly started spinning wildly, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a line of palm groves as spectators watched.
Videos posted on the internet capture the aircraft beginning to twirl near the beach then plunging near the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged between palms and a set of stairs close to the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital comprising two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
