Two Men Formally Indicted with Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder in the wake of the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.
Watkins, 48 years old, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were seized.
